"The Sato Dynasty"
|
As of the spring of 2410, six generations of the Sato family have owned and operated Future Industries and its various subsidiaries (e.g., Sato Computing Machines). I sat down and worked out this table a while back in order to make certain I had the timing right for references to Minami and Ryō's ancestors, and it occurred to me today that there's nothing classified in it, so I might as well share it with the class:Name | Born | Died | Notes | Hiroshi | 120 2239 | 185 (age 65) 2304 | Founder of Future Industries; died in prison. | Asami | 152 2271 | 244 (age 92) 2363 | United Republic national hero, idol of millions. Her death (peacefully, at home) occasioned a three-week worldwide period of mourning and the construction of the Sato Memorial in Republic City. | Hikari | 186 2305 | 250? (age 64) 2369? | Retired from Future Industries after her mother's funeral in 244/2363. Disappeared leading an investigatory Veil expedition during the Spirit Peak of 250/2369. | Mirai | 208 2327 | 284 (age 76) 2403 | Corwin (12) attended her funeral, the summer before "Welcome to Republic City"; Minami was 15, Ryō 12. He remembers her as "a nice lady." | Kenzaburō | 236 2355 | 289 (age 53) 2408 | Killed with his wife and 35 others in an airship crash near Omashu. | Minami | 268 2387 | N/A (current age 22; birthday is in July) | Inherited control of Future Industries at 20; fortunately a prodigy. First member of the Sato line to have a sibling (Ryō, born in May of 272/2393). |
