Since S4 is set following a significant timeskip after S3%2C and begins a number of threads that carry into OOTR %28e.g.%2C Juniper%2C the Klingon Civil War%29%2C I thought that might be appropriate...%0D%0A%0D%0A... but then I thought%2C hang on%2C the whole point of this exercise was to set OOTR %5Bi%5Dapart%5B%2Fi%5D from the Symphonies%2C and now you want to make one of the Symphony pages look a bit like it%3F  Doesn%27t that sort of defeat the purpose%3F%0D%0A%0D%0AI can see both sides of the above argument%2C having basically posed it to %5Bi%5Dmyself%5B%2Fi%5D%2C but I haven%27t decided what to do about it. Besides%2C it was mentioned earlier that the way S4 ends is an appropriate close to the Symphony of the Sword %5Bi%5Din toto%5B%2Fi%5D%2C and I am therefore quite pleased with the reorg%2C especially since it simultaneously solves the rather long sidetrack into D%C3%ACqi%C3%BA. %0D%0A%0D%0ABesides%2C there%27s a timeskip in S3 anyway%2C which is actually %5Bi%5Dlonger%5B%2Fi%5D than that from the end of S3 to the beginning of S4%2C and if S4 moved to the opera%2C then the SOS would end with Lion of Avalon%2C which is kind of an odd note.

Very Art Deco while forming a nice stylistic transition between the earlier Symphonies and the Opera.  I%27m liking the new organization.%0D%0A%0D%0AAs for 9 AM classes%2C I will comment on some of my relatively recent experience.  YMMV.  I only took one 8 AM course during my last %28and successful - I haz degree%21%29 university experience.  The course was Primate Locomotion%2C and very few of use primates where able to reliably locomote to it on-time regularly%2C and total attendance dropped by over half before the end of the term.  %28The professor even ran rather late once.%29  It wasn%27t the best situation for trying to comprehend a mess of biomechanics and evolutionary theory.  The 9%3A30 AM class that followed was rather better attended - at least three quarters of the class was usually there on time - but that was still early enough that some couldn%27t make it reliably to class %28or coherently through it%29.  My previous experiences with courses in those time slots were far worse.  %0D%0A%0D%0AIf you%27ve traditionally had problems getting there and being coherent%2C it may be wiser not to try.  OTOH%2C if you%27re so psyched by the course that you think you can get there on time and get stuff done%2C by all means go for it.  And if you find you can%27t handle it%2C drop or withdraw ASAP%2C if at all possible.  No reason to ruin your academic situation for a drawing course%2C even if it might be fun or exciting.  Other things to consider.  Could you possibly audit it%2C or take it pass%2Ffail%2C in order to reduce potential risk%3F%0D%0A%0D%0A

I did very well%21  But I%27m not entirely sure how%2C since I don%27t really remember taking it.%0D%0A%0D%0AThe best part of Statics was that%2C since there are no classes %5Bi%5Dbefore%5B%2Fi%5D 8 AM at the University of Maine%2C the room was open beforehand.  Before the first exam%2C Prof. Dvorak casually mentioned%2C %22Optionally%2C I%27ll be here at seven if anybody wants to get an early start on the exam.%22%0D%0A%0D%0AI thought%2C %5Bi%5DOptionally%2C fuck %5Bu%5Dthat%5B%2Fu%5D%2C%5B%2Fi%5D showed up at 8%2C and had the test about half-finished when the class period ended at 8%3A50.  Lesson learned%21  Optional doesn%27t mean optional to Prof. Dvorak.%0D%0A%0D%0A%28Somehow I got an A in that class anyway%2C despite barely passing the first exam on account of I hadn%27t %5Bi%5Ddone%5B%2Fi%5D 60%25 of it.  Like I say%2C I%27m not sure how now.%29%0D%0A%0D%0AI%27m scheduled for the sequel to that class%2C Dynamics %28you can guess what that%27s about%29%2C this fall%3B same professor%2C but it%27s in the afternoon%2C so I%27m going to guess he%27s not going to be able to pull that same trick with the exams... but one never knows.  Maybe his exams just take someone with my plodding math brain two hours to complete%2C which would mean I%27m basically fucked. %3A%29%0D%0A%0D%0A%28As an aside%2C I like Prof. Dvorak%2C despite the nasty trick with the Statics exams.  He was very good to me at a number of points when things got... complicated... during the year.  That was the spring when I got the diagnosis that would ultimately lead me to spend most of the summer preparing for%2C having%2C and recovering from cancer surgery.%29%0D%0A%0D%0A%3ECould you possibly audit it%2C or take it %0D%0A%3Epass%2Ffail%2C in order to reduce potential risk%3F %0D%0A%0D%0AAuditing wouldn%27t help%2C since audited classes don%27t count for purposes of computing part-%2Ffull-time status at UMaine%2C and the whole point of the exercise was to fill an enrollment hole. %3A%29%0D%0A%0D%0A--G.%0D%0A-%3E%3C-%0D%0ABenjamin D.
