Having a %0D%0A%3Elighter guitar to practice with on a more regular basis than %22every %0D%0A%3Eother weekend at lessons%22 seems like a nice idea%2C but my budget has %0D%0A%3Epractical limitations%2C and the quality improvement is probably still %0D%0A%3Elost on my still unskilled ear. %0D%0A%0D%0AWell%2C FWIW%2C Ibanez seems to be one of those manufacturers that has a fairly wide range of models with a fairly wide range of price points %28unlike Gibsons%2C say%2C which are all expensive%29.  I think the lefty Ibanez they had at my semi-local was around %24500 %28roughly the same as a Mexican Strat or Epiphone Les Paul%29%2C which is sort of the high end of the low end price-wise.  A step down from there you have the Squiers %28ca. %24200%29%2C which are a little uneven.
